It seems the good weather took a few days holiday to get away from it all but now it’s back and the sun is due to shine once more on a very exciting weekend. This time last year we were looking forward to the open air cinema at Priory Park in the centre of our beautiful City, and there were people frantically panic buying watermelons for their picnics to accompany the classic chick flick Dirty Dancing. I was especially excited because I’d been asked to provide the audience warm up entertainment, which of course consisted of vintage songs and almighty audience sing a long sections. It even involved an impromptu ‘lift’ as per the film and everyone fell about laughing as me and the (very strong) man recreated the scene with a slight adjustment. This year is set to be another record breaking success with a film each night and I will be kicking things off on Friday with Grease, accompanied by my friends at Brighton Jive. The Pixar animation Incredibles 2 follows on Saturday and then I’m back for my all time favourite The Greatest Showman on Sunday. The weekend of course kicks off the International Film Festival and the jewel in our crown, the Chichester Cinema at New Park has organised the screening as well as a packed programme of films that mustn’t be missed. www.chichestercinema.org
