Learn to dance or brush up your techniques
We welcome back Sue of Dance Central who will be taking two different sessions in the main hall.
Session one: STROLL
No partner? No problem! Strolling is a solo dance and even perfect for those with two left feet. Let Sue guide you through the steps of some strollers, and if you get stuck, never fear, Sue is a highly experienced teacher, and there’s plenty of other people on the dance floor to help you get the hang of it. Nothing beats a floor full of people having a great time together regardless of ability.
Session two: ROCK & ROLL JIVE
Want a crash course in how to Jive? Sue will take you through the basics, so you can either perfect your current technique or give it a go for the very first time. No partner? No worries, you’ll be paired up, and can rest assured that people who come to Dawn’s Vintage events, and very welcoming so you’re in safe hands. More experienced? You can join in and either brush up your skills or take someone under your wing while Sue guides the session with expertise.
Mobility Scooter Derby
An absolute favourite at Dawn’s Vintage events but don’t let the name fool you – the Mobility Scooter Derby isn’t a race. It’s a wonderfully entertaining solo time trial, where each competitor takes to the course one at a time to put their scooter-handling skills to the test.
Under the watchful eye of our brilliant Yellow Coats, competitors tackle a specially designed course featuring a variety of challenges, obstacles and manoeuvres. It’s all about control, accuracy and keeping your cool as you make your way around the course against the clock.
Every competitor gets their own moment in the spotlight, with plenty of encouragement from the Yellow Coats and, of course, the watching crowd. There’s no wheel-to-wheel racing and no jostling for position – just you, our specially modified mobility scooter, the course and the clock!
Participants will be drawn from the hat and will need to complete a disclaimer before putting pedal to the metal!
Capture Every Costume Studio
I believe that if you dress up, you need to make sure you get the best possible photos so you can remember how glorious you looked forever. With that, I’m thrilled to have top photographer Carline Murray with us for our ever-popular themed studio. Carlien loves props and themes as much as I do and over the years, she’s created the most incredible immersive photo studio that you can drop into as many times as you like during the event. Pose alone or in groups and remember to make the most of the props! There’s no extra charge for this, and your digital images will be available after the event to treasure forever.
Crafty Corner
Want to take a moment of calm to sit, chat and create with our expert crafty Yellow Coat Camp David? A zone to zone out and spend a little time Blue Peter style. David will be curating yet another workshop and all the materials will be there for you to create a masterpiece. Previous themes have been ‘Rock Stars’ stones and ‘Flower Power’ headbands but over the years of Dawn’s Vintage Weekender, Camp David has been responsible for some of the most incredible creations including our ‘Under The Sea Dance’ throne! There is no extra charge for this so pull up a chair during the opening hours (breaks needed for a cuppa and other activities) and get crafty.
Theme to be announced but it will make complete sense!
Evening live music
Prepare for a ‘never seen before’ moment with myself joining the awesome Harry & The Hounds band. I’ve admired these guys for years, and had them at the finale Tiki party at my Vintage Weekender in 2025, so I know what they can do. I was thrilled that they’ve agreed to let me join them to perform at All Dayer, and we’ve been in rehearsals to perform 2 x 45 sets of 50s & 60s classics which will allow you to jive, stroll and generally get on down!
80s Disco Finale with DJ Eddie ‘The Mullet’
Over the years of running vintage events, I’ve thrown many a late-night party at the end of themed days, and no matter what theme I’ve created, the disco always seems to turn into an 80s party. So, after the rock and rollin’ and strollin’ with the live performance from Harry & The Hounds (plus me!), Eddie will take to the decks to see the party out in true Electric Dreams style. No need to get changed, just stay as you are and get on down to the tunes.
