Chichester Cabaret Club
How Chichester Cabaret Club started...
Having produced cabaret nights around Sussex & Hampshire for many years, from theatres to decommissioned churches and stunning piers, I wanted to offer my hometown of Chichester something they so desperately needed.
The beautiful cathedral city is not known for it's bustling nightlife or underground avant-garde scene so when I moved from Brighton in 2004 I realised there was going to have to be a drastic overhaul of my social life.
To keep myself out of mischief, I joined a five-piece 'hobby' band and then spent the subsequent eight years on the pub circuit honing her skills, but my focus took a drastic turn in 2011 to a completely different style of entertainment. With an unexpected 'Best Dressed' win at Goodwood Revival I left my job to work as a full-time vintage singer.
Then through my love of the burlesque and drag scene, I started teaching body confidence skills and producing small shows which toured the counties!
In January 2016 I decided to commit myself to producing bi-monthly cabaret nights for the city that gave me a break all those years ago and the variety nights have been hugely successful with most dates selling out. Not for the faint-hearted or easily offended, the modest yet spectacular evenings are there for the adults of Chichester to come together and have a right old knees up!
Hosted mainly by me, you can expect two hours of stunning burlesque, high kicking camp and musical treats for the ears (30 minute break between halves, please respect the neighbouring properties with regards to noise) The Pallant suite can be tricky to find (it's the Freemasons hall so what do you expect?) so plan your first journey ahead of time and come to the cabaret 'ole chum
